The Capital City Museum The Capital City Museum is open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Admission is Free. We are open year-round except for Frankfort city government holidays. Our facility is accessible to people with disabilities. Motor coach parking next to the museum.

Walking Tours of Historic Downtown Frankfort. Tour brochures are available at the museum. Call 502-696-0607. Parking is adjacent to the museum at 325 Ann Street.

Chuck Bogart’s free historic walking tours leave from the old L&N Train Depot between the History Center and the Capital City Museum at 6:30 P.M.  There is only one tour given on each date. This popular hour-long tour shares the history of Frankfort’s railroad days from its beginning to the present. Make your reservations at 502-227-2436. Parking is adjacent to the museum.

The Leslie Morris Park atop Fort Hill features two Civil War forts, the Sullivan House interpretive center, a picnic pavilion, a scenic downtown Frankfort overlook and several hiking trails. The park is open to vehicular traffic year-round from 11 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Free guided tours are available Monday- Saturday from Memorial Day through the end of October.

Russ Kennedy’s free KY River Walk The tour leaves from the River View Park near the Farmers Market Pavilion at Wilkinson and Broadway at 10:30 A.M. Reservations are required and can be made by calling 502-803-0242.
