The Capital City Museum is open Monday through Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The City of Frankfort’s Department of Parks & Recreation operates the museum. It is located at 325 Ann Street downtown – directly across Broadway from the Kentucky History Center. Several seasonal and special interest tours of Frankfort start at the museum. Fort Hill is a hill overlooking downtown Frankfort, Kentucky, where military fortifications were built during the American Civil War to protect the city and its pro-Union state government .The park is open to vehicular traffic year-round from 11 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Free guided tours are available Monday- Saturday from Memorial Day through October 31.
