Ward Oates Amphitheatre occupies a beautiful site overlooking the scenic Kentucky River and provides a spectacular setting for all types of presentations: concerts, theatrical productions, and films. Patrons bring their own seating for use on a series of grassy risers that offer perfect views of the amphitheatre stage and the Kentucky River. Watch for a September theatrical celebration of artist Paul Sawyier in a special plein air event for the entire family. The Leslie W. Morris Park on Fort Hill features two Civil War forts, the Sullivan House interpretive center, picnic pavilion, scenic downtown Frankfort overlook, and hiking trails. Visitor's Center is open 11AM to 5PM, Monday through Saturday, Memorial Day to October 31. Park is open to vehicular traffic, dawn to dusk, year round.
